Hello Registered to this forum today, and will post all my old style caps with time. I have introduced myself "on the say hello", but to those of you that has not read it I collect caps, and have done that for many years. I`m a Norwegian and have now decided to fill mu shelves with old style caps, will post some of them later. I sold 3 ss caps yesterday to one forum member, lucky bas..... But out of the sky, another one landed in my nest later on the evening. That one is a god starter for discussion. I dont call myself a novice with caps, but this one I find plausible. I have a oppinion on this one, but want to hear what you say also. enjoy the photos, and please comment your observations. I appologise if the photos is not top notch, I was out in the sun and the colours look brighter than normal. more photos will be uploaded. Kim

Even more photos. The cap appears to be unused and the sweathband is very stiff. The sweathband have not been folded by many hands over the years, if I fold it over it will crack... Not leather sweathband, laminated cloth No stitch, but a pin Underside of visor

Hi Kim, I have concerns about this one I'm afraid. Firstly I remember seeing it on Kai Winklers website and we all know about Kai and his record of selling dodgy caps! Then there is the maker, Anton Haupt of Wetzlar. I don't recall seeing any military caps made by him, only civilian like these and from the early 20th century. www.pala-trade.com/sonstiges/I'm not a big fan of the leather visor, looks quite modern to me with it's rough edge. The stitching around the sweatband looks quite "fresh" as well. All in all, quite a few red flags. What do think about it?

Thank you for the comments
Well, I dont have the best of feelings about.
I heard the story that at one time it came from Winkler, and that is a red flag for me alone.
But I also heard that it was some years ago.
If its a unused cap it could fool someone, I was not 100 % shure.
Beside the ruff edges on visor it looks plausible..
Just needed a push not blinding my self.
If I get it for a few dollars I`ll keep it as a filler so that no one else get burned.
From now one I will when time permits share my other caps with you guys, those caps there should not be any concerns about :-)
untill then, have a great weekend
Kim
