Saw this at a show the other day--it was being sold as a fake, but for $2,000(!) This dates from the late 1970's to the mid-1980s. Thing was jam-packed with padding--would have been like wearing a rock on your head. Lacks all the Pekuro traits. Hat would have fooled 99.9% of collectors back then, and would still fool 95% of collectors today.

Pat, that is what I told the dealer, and his reply is that "the current owner has a lot more [than $2000] into it(!)
I would have paid $250 for it just to take it apart.
